Event to be staged for the first time
at Bilbao Exhibition Centre on October 8-10
FOCCUS GASTRONOMICO TO FOCUS ON INNOVATION IN QUALITY FOODSTUFFS
Displays of new products and innovative schemes will be the main points of interest at Foccus Gastronómico, the first gastronomy and high-quality foodstuffs fair aimed at the trade to be staged at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre on October 8-10 this year.
Renowned chefs will prepare a “Foccus Menu” each day, a specific area will be set aside for newly marketed products, there will be vertical wine tasting, a contest for specialist coffee makers or “baristas”, an international wine tasting contest and talks on range four and five products (i.e. fresh ingredients packaged ready to consume, pre-frozen and precooked), food and sport and other topics, making up a dynamic programme with great strategic value for the trade.
Almost 100 distributors and direct manufacturers, including a large number of wineries, have already booked their places at the event, which will enable exhibitors to present the latest advances in high-quality foodstuffs to the trade.
SYNERGIES BETWEEN EXHIBITORS AND VISITORS
In the main exhibition area of Foccus Gastronómico space will be set aside to display articles that have begun to be marketed since September 2006. Over the three days of the event, several renowned chefs will be visiting the Bilbao Exhibition Centre to prepare a special Foccus Menu in front of an audience, the dishes from which will then be served at the restaurants in the complex. Vertical wine tastings involving wines of different vintages from the same winery will enable the development of specific brands to be gauged, and a demonstration contest for “baristas” will bring together experts in the art of preparing coffee.
The programme of talks at the event is to include presentations under the titles “Conservation of Wine”, “Food and Sport” and “Use of Range 4 and 5 Products in the Kitchen”. More presentations have yet to be confirmed, and the full programme seeks to develop synergy between exhibitors and visitors as one of the main attractions of Foccus Gastronómico.
Finally, there is still time to sign up for the 1st International Wine Tasting Contest, which is open to red, white, rosé, sparkling, sweet and Generoso wines and liqueurs from all over the world.
