Purchasers from 114 countries have received information on the 843 firms which have signed up for the Spanish Machine-tool Biennial, so communications have now been opened up between exhibitors and potential visitors with a range of promotional actions. The BIEMH commercial campaign is achieving better as it progresses, and has now reached one of its most interesting phases.

The list of firms has been passed on to representatives of those markets where work is ongoing to attract delegates. They will be receiving regular updates on events in this area. The campaign considers India, China, the US, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, Turkey, Germany, France, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic as strategic countries, though it extends to many more. An on-line catalogue for visitors will shortly become available for consultation. This catalogue will be continually updated, and will facilitate contacts between trade specialists.

The organisers have been working at their hardest for months now, and 843 firms have already booked their places at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre for May 31 – June 5. They will be exhibiting products and services in the fields of machine-tools (cutting &shaping), other machines (welding, flame-cutting & surface treatment), tools for machine-tools, parts, components & accessories, automation of production systems, metrology & quality control and services.

Following initiatives by agents, institutions and associations from the metal, railway, shipbuilding and capital goods industries, among others, the number of trade specialists who have expressed an interest in visiting the BIEMH has now topped 22,000. One of the focal points of the campaign to attract visitors is a programme for foreign delegations, and work is ongoing to draw up the final lists of VIP purchasers, pending only the last few proposals.
