MORE THAN 700 FIRMS CONFIRM ATTENDANCE AT THE 26TH BIEMH

In all, 762 exhibiting firms have already hired their space for the next edition of the Spanish Machine-Tool Biennial Exhibition – BIEMH that will be held from 31 May to 5 June at Bilbao Exhibition Centre. Six months before being held, the registration list currently includes first level brands such as Abb, Amob, Fagor Automation, Geka, Goratu Máquinas Herramienta, Danobat Group, Hoffman, Nicolás Correa, Mazak, Motofil, Zayer, Zeiss and Kuka, among others.

With respect to economic and commercial action plans, this year attractive allowances are provided together with some other extra advantages related to preferential reservations on certain registration periods, easy payment terms and special stand decoration packs. Regarding promotion issues, several initiatives for wide dissemination of exhibiting firms' activities that encompass a customised management are under development.

The machine tool sector is highly dynamic and receptive to currently encouraged revitalization plans such as the successful "Renove Plan" promoted by the Industry, Innovation, Trade and Tourism Department of the Basque Government. In this framework, the BIEMH organising team aims at providing the companies with a new boost for 2010 by shaping an arena that will increase their international business opportunities

FOREIGN BUYERS AND WORK WITH ASSOCIATIONS, KEY TOPICS IN THE CAMPAIGN FOR VISITORS

The campaign for professional visitors started in October and more than 19,000 professionals have already shown interest in attending next BIEMH edition.

The work with associations is already in motion and national and international organisations, many of them regular collaborators in the exhibition and linked to metal, railway, shipping or capital goods industries, amongst others, have already been contacted.

Moreover, the programme with foreign commercial delegations, a key element in the campaign, has been launched this month. This initiative, coordinated by the commercial offices of the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX), the network of agents of the Society for the Industrial Promotion and Reconversion (SPRI), under the Basque Government, and the Bilbao Exhibition Centre’s own agents abroad, guarantees the attendance of buyers from all around the world at BIEMH.

Strategic target countries in this section mainly include India, China, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, Turkey, Germany, France, Poland, Slovakia and Czech Republic, that together with many others dealt with, reach an overall figure of 114 countries. The exhibition sales team will travel to Asian and Latin American countries during the first term of next year for specific promotion campaigns.

Lastly, personnel qualification and training is essential in this field, so the exhibition takes great care over its profile as a reference training area to answer this need. Actually, the participation of more than 80 vocational training and higher education centres nationwide is already confirmed.
